About the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council
The Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council (WPRC) engages partners from every sector, and every corner of our community to develop strategies and solutions that significantly reduce poverty in our city.
About the Position:
We are currently seeking a Program Coordinator to:
- Support community initiatives identified by the WPRC
- Implement the WPRC’s Working Groups’ agenda and proposed actions
- Work with volunteer and staff teams and lead in project management, research, and evaluation
- Help organize the annual Community Report, Poverty Reduction
- Partnership Forum, and support WPRC working groups and committees
- In support of WPRC’s Framework for Action, coordinate and document meetings, provide progress reports on agenda items, maintain accurate and updated database of members, conduct research and write reports, assist in strategic and financial planning and evaluation, and remain informed about local and national poverty reduction initiatives
Dedicated to working in the non-profit sector, you are a self-directed, highly motivated individual who thrives in a complex and changing environment.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline (or a suitable combination of education and experience)
- 2-3 years experience in community development, program management/coordination, research and evaluation, and/or poverty related issues
- Exceptional knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills coupled with strong event planning abilities
