The Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council (WPRC) engages partners from every sector, and every corner of our community to develop strategies and solutions that significantly reduce poverty in our city.
About the Position:
We are currently seeking a Program Coordinator – Business & Education Partnerships to:
- Facilitate communication between various poverty reduction programs in Winnipeg
- Develop and implement an annual work plan, and provide oversight of day-to-day services
- Help WPRC connect the business community with designated Winnipeg schools
- Promote and coordinate the “You Can Do It” awards which enables and encourages students in designated schools to pursue post-secondary education
- Coordinate neighbourhood initiatives, and broker partnerships between businesses and community groups in designated neighbourhoods
Dedicated to working in the non-profit sector, you are a self-directed, highly motivated individual who thrives in a complex and changing environment.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree in Education, Social Sciences or a related discipline (or a suitable combination of education and experience)
- 2-3 years of leadership experience in a business, education, non-profit and/or youth environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with education systems and school settings
- Experience with action research and program development
- Knowledge of equity perspectives
- Cultural competency
- Awareness of community-based work and business practices
- Experience with public relations and marketing
