About the Position
Wolseley Family Place requires a Program Co-ordinator. Wolseley Family Place is a family resource centre in the core area of Winnipeg, which provides a broad spectrum of programs and services primarily to families with small children. The Program Co-ordinator will manage the services provided to adult participants. These services include support for personal development work as well as advocacy support.
The successful candidate will:
- have excellent listening and empathetic skills
- understand and utilize principles of Compassionate Connection, Stages of Change, Strength Based Response, Participant Centering, and Harm Reduction
- have excellent organizational, management, networking, documentation, reporting and supervisory skills
- have a strong working knowledge of Winnipeg and other resources
- have strong advocacy skills
- have strong presentation and facilitation skills
- be able to design and develop educational materials
The role of program co-ordinator includes:
- co-ordinating a program which provides service for folks who are facing a number of barriers, with an emphasis on problematic substance use and intense family conflict
- supervising and co-ordinating the work of other program staff members
- interacting with participants in one-on-one settings and couple and family groupings
- serving as advocate and liaison with other organizations, agencies and services
- providing support for personal development work
- designing, developing, promoting, delivering and facilitating workshops
- ensuring that all evaluative measures, documentation and reporting procedures are kept up-to-date and provided in a timely manner
Terms of Employment
This position is full time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 5:00 with occasional evening and weekend hours.
This position is a contract position; it will be in place for a minimum of 6 months, and will be extended in 3 month increments, in relation to administrative circumstances.
