Organization:

UNPAC is an association of Manitoba women supporting women's equality and
empowerment locally and globally through community action and education. See
www.unpac.ca/

Most of UNPAC's work today focuses on promoting women's economic equality. Our popular
education workshops educate and engage women on the economic issues at play in their
lives and give them skills and knowledge to promote their own and all women's economic
equality. Our leadership development programs provide intensive education and mentoring
for women who are working to build skills, confidence and capacity to create change in their
communities. Our advocacy work promotes public policy that guarantees all women and their
families an adequate standard of living and the programs and services they need in order to
contribute to society at their fullest potential.

Our new Blueprint Project will be designed to target a diversity of rural Manitoba women,
including farm women, Aboriginal, low-income, women with varying levels of education and
physical abilities and so on, who are involved in key leadership roles (staff and volunteer) in
community based organizations.

After a period of research, promotion and relationship building in a variety of communities, we
will host an intensive program for 10-15 women (participants). This intensive program will
allow us to equip the participants with knowledge and resources to implement sustainable
systemic institutional changes within their own organizations with the purpose of increasing
women's participation and decision-making opportunities.
