About the Position
Supporting Employment and Economic Development Winnipeg Inc. (SEED) is a Community Economic Development organization that works to combat poverty and assist in the renewal of primarily inner city communities. SEED’s Asset Building Programs assist participants to save and invest in household necessities and productive assets.
The Asset Building Administrative Coordinator works in collaboration with other asset building program staff to coordinate and provide administrative support for recruitment, intake, money management training, database management, case management and other areas of program delivery. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented and a reliable team player. This position will require someone with the flexibility to work evenings and on weekends when needed.
Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency with MS Office 2007 is essential, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under time constraints
- Excellent keyboarding and data-entry skills
- Strong comfort level working with and maintaining various office equipment (i.e. fax, photocopier, printers, postage machine)
- Experience in purchasing and preparing healthy snacks for small groups
- Able to deal with the public in a friendly and open manner --- including phone and face to face interactions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Facilitation skills an asset
- Fluency in an additional language an asset
- Able to show initiative and work independently
- Experience with program planning and implementation
- Experience with low-income people and diverse groups
- Knowledge of Community Economic Development, inner city issues and community-based organizations
- Personal knowledge of, or experience working with people living on a low income
Terms
