Who We Need
We’re looking for someone with strong foundational accounting skills that also has a good grasp of how money flows from a loan through the electronic banking processes. You provide exceptional service and thrive in a quick paced, demanding environment. You easily master new software and take care that the information you work with impacts people around you.
Introduction:
Momentum staff is expected to work co-operatively with others; demonstrate flexibility in organizing work; show a high degree of initiative, discernment, and resourcefulness; have good communication skills; and demonstrate thoughtfulness in decision-making.
Staff must be non-judgmental and receptive in approach, and reflect genuine concern, respect and commitment towards the individual, family, and community.
Responsibility:
This position is responsible to the Finance Manager, and will work in close collaboration with program staffing, specifically department Managers and Program Facilitators and Assistants. The Finance Team prides itself on providing exceptional service to the organization.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Loan Portfolio Administration
- Bookkeeping as it relates to loan programs
- General Financial Administration
Primary Relationships:
- Finance Manager Supervisor
- Finance Director
- Department Managers and Facilitators
- Finance team
Qualifications:
- Intermediate bookkeeping experience in the areas of accounts receivables, accounts payable with an emphasis on reconciliation
- Working towards accounting certification/diploma
- Experience in multi-cost center environment
- Banking background as it relates to understanding electronic banking transactions and loan administration considered an asset
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Good knowledge of other computer software programs – Great Plains Dynamics/
Quicken/Correlate/Raiser Edge/The Exceptional Assistant/RBC express / Word - Detail oriented, accurate, and dependable
- Ability to thrive in a deadline oriented role
- Efficient organization and time management skills
- Demonstrates initiative
- Good ability to analyze and innovate with demonstrated problem solving skills
- Able to take direction yet work collaboratively as well as independently
- Functions effectively as a team member
- Interest in Community Economic Development considered an asset
