Part-Time with potential of Full-Time (Contract Position)

The Food Connections Program is a dynamic, multi-faceted program which includes a social enterprise Catering Business, Cooking Class, Breakfast Club, Community Store, Community Garden and Low-Cost Lunch Program.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Food Connections Coordinator is responsible for the planning, managing, organizing and implementation of Food Connections activities and projects. You will serve as the primary contact for the program and work directly with external and internal catering clients as well a team of Food Connections Contract Workers. You will supervise and direct the work of the Food Connections Contract Workers and volunteers to meet program goals and ensure deliverables are consistent with the guidelines of funders and the mission of Wolseley Family Place.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation of a pre-employment Social Enterprise catering business including the direct supervision of a team of Contract Workers
  • Produce and maintain accurate records and timely reports including complied statistical information, quarterly and annual reports, performance reviews and an annual work-plan consistent with the goals and objectives of WFP
  • Ability to interact in a professional and constructive manner with co-workers, employees, catering clients and funders
  • Ensure the kitchen and the Community Store meet the regulated standards and procedures for health, safety and sanitization

Job Requirements:

  • Experience cooking and/or catering in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Strong written and oral skills for report writing, funding proposals, presenting and staff communication
  • Excellent & proven organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Previous supervision of staff in a work or volunteer setting
  • Knowledge of and experience working with diverse populations
