About the Position:

Reporting to the Manager, of the GO (Growing Opportunities) Team, the Business Development Specialist is responsible for leading and supporting activities to create awareness, and develop and attract value-added and expanded value-chain enterprises and other community and business development initiatives (both agricultural and non-agricultural).

The incumbent provides advice to clients and community leaders regarding all aspects of business development and management; assists a wide variety of potential business clients with all aspects of starting their own business from conceptualization through to commercial success; provides advice and support to existing businesses to strengthen their operation to facilitate growth, wealth and job creation; and, may provide leadership and coordination for department initiatives in a specialty area (i.e. Entrepreneurship).
