About the Position:
The West Central Women’s Resource Centre (WCWRC) provides services and programming to women and families in the West Central neighbourhood of Winnipeg. WCWRC is currently seeking a Program Director to provide overall support and coordinator to WCWRC programming and program staff. The Program Director will ensure all WCWRC programming is carried out within WCWRC’s vision, mission and philosophy.
Start Date: early April 2012
Terms of Employment:
1 Year Contract (possibility of extension)
$23.00 - $24.50/hr
30-32 hrs/week
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise WCWRC program staff
- Support and provide overall coordinator to WCWRC programming
- Ensure strong project, program and Centre evaluation
- Assist the ED with implementing the fundraising plan, particularly around grant and report writing
- Assist ED is identifying trends, opportunities, risks and challenges
- Oversee general outreach and promotion
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience supervising and supporting other staff
- Strong understanding of, and ability to communicate information around, program evaluation
- Ability to help others set goals and create plans to facilitate the accomplishment of goals
- Excellent interpersonal communication and accessible to others
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to provide informal mediation, support and mentorship
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong computer and professional writing skills; ability to prepare proposals and reports,
- Awareness and sensitivity to issues of marginalization (sexism, racism, classism) and cultural diversity
- A strong understanding of the West Central community
Assets
- 3 years experience in a non-profit work environment
- Related degree or diploma
