Market Assistant

St. Norbert Farmers' Market is looking for a Market Assistant. This is a seasonal, part-time position. Rate of pay is $12 per hour.

Here are the details:

Saturdays, June through October, 7am to 4pm and Wednesdays, June through September,
Noon to 7 pm.

  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.
  • Assist the Vendor Services Manager in opening the market, and throughout the market day. 
  • Assist vendors as requested, assist in putting out signage, etc.
  • Ensure the information booth is set-up for market opening. Be prepared to host the Information Booth.
  • This position provides assistance to the info booth and assistance to the site sanitation staff.
  • Stocking of office supplies as required.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Vendor Services Manager and the Community Relations Manager.

The successful applicant will be/have:

  • Able to work well in a busy, public environment.
  • Highly organized with proven attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with the public.
  • Be comfortable providing information to the public.
  • Be self motivated and a team player.
  • Experience working with volunteers is considered an asset.
  • An interest in and knowledge of farmers markets and local food is considered an asset.
