The Project :

The Youth Co-operative of Services (YCS) consists of a group of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. These adolescents put their skills and resources together to be able to offer a multitude of services to their community by creating their own business. These services could be, but are not limited to : domestic or commercial cleaning, store inventory, lawn care, car washes, interior or exterior painting, etc…

Facilitators Tasks

• Make a business plan
• Promote the project/marketing
• Coordinate aspects of human resources
• Train youth members on the coooperative values and principles
• Make presentations
• Prepare a final report

Training provided by CDEM :

• Introduction to the process of developing a co-operative business project
• Learn the co-operative philosophy
• Gain hands on experience in the social and economic effect of a co-op

Requirements

• Between 18 and 30 years old
• At least 1 year completed of Business Administration OR local/regional Development an asset
• Computer and software knowledge
• Strong communication skills
• Capable to manage and develop work opportunities
• Bilingualism an asset
• Able to work weekends or evenings, as required

Length of contract and salary:

• Hourly salary : $12/hr 37.5hrs/week
• Summer– Start date June 4th
