1 year term, full-time 3 positions available to serve West Alexander, Central and Centennial
Neighbourhoods
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify community issues, needs and problems in the assigned community
- Plan, attend and coordinate community meetings and events
- Act as a facilitator to collect information and feedback from residents and community groups
related to CNDC and community programs and initiatives - Participate in all agency, community, residents’ association and government meetings relevant to the assigned community
- Enlist the cooperation of government bodies, community organizations and sponsors
- Encourage community participation in events and initiatives
- Help to raise public awareness of issues relevant to the community
- Network to build contacts and fundraising support
Requirements:
- Post secondary education considered an asset
- Two years experience working in a non-profit environment
- Volunteer experience on a Board of Directors or community committee an asset
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English; knowledge of an additional language representative of community demographics is an asset
- Able to conduct and facilitate meetings and consultations and to comfortably speak in public
- Knowledge of government funded initiatives and programs related to community development
- Knowledge of the demographics, cultural makeup, challenges and opportunities in the
designated community
