TIPI, is an Aboriginal organization comprised of four First Nations businesses in partnership.  The partnership’s goal is to create economies of scale in both pension and group benefits, as well as property and casualty insurance for all Aboriginal peoples across Canada. Visit www.tipionline.ca to better understand TIPI. TIPI is seeking the services of a Member Service Advocate to work out of TWCC in Winnipeg.

As a Member Service Advocate, you will be the TIPI brand ‘ambassador’, which is part of our pension and benefits division. The successful candidate will provide superior, personalized service to our members and employee benefit Plan Administrators.  TIPI members are individuals in group plans that need assistance with claims enquiries and pension questions.  Plan Administrators are the Human Resource personnel at the employer’s workplace.  
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responding to group insurance inquiries  and concerns from members  and administrators in a professional and timely manner;
  • Present a positive and professional image of TIPI to all members, administrators, potential members and other interactions;
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge relating to the products and services TIPI delivers including industry trends; 
  • Set up meetings, webinars, workshops, and presentations for plan members and administrators;
  • Develop and apply email campaigns, conduct phone surveys and other sales and service activities;
  • Prepare reports, documents and correspondence as required;
  • Relationship management and networking with members, administrators, communities and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a team player and display highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with members, potential members and co-workers;
  • Demonstrated ability to self motivate, show initiative, and lead when required;
  • Strong organizing, planning,  multi-tasking , decision making, and time management skills required;
  • Completion of high school is required, business degree, diploma or certificate  or equivalent work experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience in financial services, sales, or the insurance industry is desirable but not essential;
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing the quality of service is essential;
  • Excellent administrative and communication skills;
  • Good computer skills required;
  • Must be willing to travel;
  • Ability to speak/understand an Aboriginal language would be a definite asset.
