Job Title: Community Economic Development Manager

Hours: 37.5hrs/week
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Community Economic Development Manager (CEDM) works under the direction of the Executive Director, and will report to the and provide briefing notes to Chief and Council to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate all economic development policy, programs and initiatives. The CEDM will focus on the development of local capacity to effectively develop, manage, and govern economic development initiatives as recommended in the Lheidli T’enneh Economic Diversification Plan, the 2012-2017 Strategic Plan, and the Comprehensive Community Plan; and will also work on the advancement of opportunities facing the Nation. Further, the CEDM will work in partnership with a host of organizations to further economic development growth within Lheidli T’enneh Nation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree in one or more of the following:
• Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Economics or Commerce;
• Minimum three (3) years previous experience in management or supervisory position;
• Minimum two (2) years previous experience in economic development;
• Knowledge of First Nation economic development and legislation affecting First Nations both locally and nationally;
• Proven ability to work effectively in a high demand, complex work environment;
• High standards of ethics and confidentiality with a demonstrated ability to effectively handle sensitive information; and
• Ability to analyze, prepare and reconcile budgets and expenditures.
