Part time coordinator for LightHouses Program

5 hours/week (with some minor flexibility)
term position based on funding
 
The person chosen will work closely with the executive co-directors to develop and run the after school lighthouse program two days a week during the school year and to structure and run the program over the summer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning weekly programming for boys club and girls club
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers
  • Mentoring the youth participants
  • Building relationships with the families of participants
  • Tracking and recording progress and outcomes
  • Reporting to executive co-directors and board
  • Working with other organizations and programs in the Elwick and Maples area to promote healthy children and community
Applicant must have very strong organizational and communication skills. Must be experienced in conflict resolution, and be appreciative of the issues facing young people today. An understanding of immigrant communities and families living under low economic circumstances is also vital to the position.
 
Person chosen is required to have a current criminal record/vulnerable sector check and child abuse registry check.
