OFE is a private, faith-based, non-profit organization. Our mission is to assist adults to achieve self- sufficiency through long-term employment. We are currently recruiting for an Employment Services Support person for a term position within our growing organization.
 
Project: Stages of Change for Persons with a Disability
EFT: 0.5 – 0.7 (20 - 28 hours per week - TBD)
Term: 15 – 20 weeks

Responsibilities: 

In a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment that positively impacts thousands of lives per year, the successful applicants will work with individuals one-on-one by:
  • Providing proactive job search support • Assisting clients with application forms, job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews
  • Sourcing labour market information and specific job leads • Networking with employers and community agencies

Necessary qualifications:

  • Employment Service experience or experience in a related field
  • good understanding of barriers to employment
  • In-depth knowledge of job searching techniques and local labour market trends
  • Experience in developing professional resumes and cover letters
  • Knowledge of community resources providing services to low-income and multi-barrier clients
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
