About Santropol Roulant

systems, food security and community care.
About the Position 
Working closely with the Executive Director and the Fundraising Team, the Director of Develpment is responsible and accountable for the implementation and management of Santropol Roulant's fundraising program. 
The Director will have the opportunity to develop this position with a particular focus on expanding our unrestricted funds.
This position provides overall leadership to the fundraising program at Santropol Roulant in accordance with the vision, mission, programs and values set out by Staff, the Board of Directors and our Members. 
Key Responsibilities
With  an  annual  organizational  budget  of  $900,000,  the  Director  Development  is responsible for:
Direction and Development
Supporting the development of annual and long-term fundraising goals and strategies 
• Ensuring that fundraising targets align with organizational needs
• Development of new funding streams 
• Oversight of the fundraising efforts of members of the staff
Fundraising
• Building and stewarding new and existing relationships with corporate donors and foundations with the aim of developing a healthy and diverse funding base
• Writing funding applications and managing follow-up
• Pursuing and developing new donor leads
• Working  with  operational  staff  to  stay  abreast  of  programming  needs  and communicating these needs to our funding partners 
• Planning major annual events and appeals with the fundraising team• Creating and promoting opportunities for Staff, Board, Volunteers and Donors to become actively involved in fundraising
About the Ideal Candidate 
The ideal candidate has relevant experience fundraising and managing budgets within the non-profit sector.  Additionally, we work in a highly collaborative and inclusive environment.  The right candidate must have great facility in marrying administrative  imperatives  with  participatory  and  consensus-based  decision making.
Mandatory qualifications
Fundraising Management:
• Experience  cultivating,  soliciting  and  stewarding  relationships  with  major donors, corporations and foundations
• Budget management skills 
Grant writing and donor relationships:
• Excellent inter-personal skills 
• Excellent written communication skills 
• Bilingual (English and French)
Organizational Development:
• Highly motivated, innovative and able to mobilize colleagues
• Ability  to  see  big  picture  organizational  needs  and  align  fundraising strategies in consequence
• Interest  in  and  some  understanding  of  community  development, sustainability, food security, along with a genuine desire to inspire social
change.  
Additional Details
This is a full-time permanent position with a 40 hr/week, Mon-Fri schedule.
The forecasted start date is around January 21st 2013.
This is a salaried position at $34,320  per  annum.  
Remuneration  at  Santropol  Roulant  is  set  according  to Santropol  Roulant's  Salary  Policy  which  also  includes  health  and  professional
development benefits and annual salary augmentations.
