 Program Manager – Women’s Economic Empowerment & Food Security Program

This new position, reporting to the Partnership Manager will lead the design, planning, implementation and evaluation of the CIDA-funded Strengthening Women’s Leadership for economic empowerment and Food Security Project. As Program Manager, you will work in collaboration with partners in Ethiopia, Ghana and Zambia as well as with Coady colleagues. This includes support for professional education programs (in country and on-campus at Coady), action research projects in all 3 countries, and the documentation and dissemination of learning outcomes from the project in order to influence policy related to women's leadership in economic empowerment and food security.
The position is located at the Coady International Institute on the campus of St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, with potential for some travel. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 depending on qualifications. The position is based on 37.5 hours per week with the understanding that extended hours may be occasionally necessary to meet business requirements. 
Responsibilities include: 
• Manage the development of the project, annual planning and all project activities  within the framework of existing Coady Institute, StFX and CIDA policies;
• Develop a Project Monitoring and Evaluation plan in collaboration with the Senior Program Analyst (M&E) and oversee implementation  to capture the information required for organizational learning as well as reporting;
• Manage processes that support required program reporting to CIDA and other funders;
• Colaborate with project partners and staff in Ethiopia, Ghana and Zambia, creating a team approach to the project;  
• Work collaboratively with Coady colleagues to support design and delivery of on-campus and in-country (Ethiopia, Ghana, Zambia) educational programs. Collaborate with partners and staff in support of action-research projects, including the development and dissemination of materials, support for design, implementation and evaluation of Annual Learning Forums and final project Learning Forum;
• Manage and support  Coady/Partner staff in Ethiopia, Ghana and Zambia  consistent with Coady/StFX HR policy and practice;
• Liaise with and support for the Coady/CIDA partnership in Canada and in-country, providing operational and strategic support to the partnership in consultation with the Partnerships Manager.
Qualifications/Skills: 
• 5 to 7 years’ experience in international development.  Experience in project countries and/or women’s leadership, economic empowerment or food security are desired. 
• Masters or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Project Management experience. 
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge and experience working with international programs and donors an asset. Previous experience with CIDA funded programs would be a strong asset.
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Ability to work independently while ensuring that outcomes are met
