The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors in keeping with the core values of the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization
- Ensure that the operation, programs and services of the organization meet the expectations of its clients, community, Board and Funders and contribute to the organization’s mission
- Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization
Qualifications
Education
- University degree in a related field. A combination of post secondary education and experience would be considered
Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience
- 3-5 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
- Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
- Knowledge and experience with human resources management, financial management, and project management
- Proficiency in the use of computers
- Possess a valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation
