Title: Community economic development officer (NOC: 4163)

Terms of Employment: Temporary, Full Time, Day

Salary: $35,200.00 to $44,000.00 Yearly for 35 hours per week, Mileage Paid, Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits

Anticipated Start Date: 2013/04/01

Location: Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia (1 vacancy)

Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not applicable

Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting: Business or industry, Economic development organization, Government

Area of Specialization: Business or commercial development, Economic development, Marketing, Regional or area development, Tourism

Specific Skills: Develop policies, Plan development projects, Respond to enquiries from members of the business community concerning development opportunities, Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts or articles, Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia, Knowledge of federal, provincial and other public and private funding agencies, Knowledge of federal and provincial regulations/policies, Prepare funding applications, Develop business plans

Additional Skills: Perform administrative tasks, Use computer applications

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Tight deadlines

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel regularly

Work Location Information: Rural community
