Title: Community economic development officer (Community Economic Development (CED) Manager)

Terms of Employment: Temporary, Full Time, Day

Salary: $22.00 to $25.00 Hourly for 37.5 hours per week

Anticipated Start Date: 2013/04/08

Location: Winnipeg and Area, Manitoba (1 vacancy)

Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Certified Economic Developer (Ec.D.) through the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC)

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting: Economic development organization

Area of Specialization: Business or commercial development, Economic development, Marketing

Specific Skills: Develop policies, Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts or articles, Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia, Evaluate customer service and store environments, Knowledge of federal, provincial and other public and private funding agencies, Knowledge of federal and provincial regulations/policies, Knowledge of community and industry partners, Prepare funding applications, Develop marketing strategies, Develop business plans

Additional Skills: Supervise professional and support staff and students, Perform administrative tasks, Use computer applications

Security and Safety: Confidential security clearance, Criminal record check, Driver's validity licence check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Fast-paced environment

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Own vehicle

Work Location Information: Urban area, Various locations

Ability to Supervise: Working groups
