Job Summary
The Community Outreach Coordinator. Is responsible to the development and implementation of an engagement plan that meets the ECRC’s mission and vision.  Meeting with residents to assist them in developing and establishing a local resident’s association as well as other programs such as safety, health and social inclusion.  Research into the development of a “Social Enterprise” will be required.
 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Design and manage a community outreach strategy to further the ECRC’s mission and reputation.
  • Work with internal program stakeholders on key responsibility issues, building consensus and commitment to strategies  
  • Identify partners for collaboration (internal and external).
  • Work with other community organizations to assess the needs and interests of key stakeholders 
  • Track and maintain appropriate metrics, targets and reporting procedures to measure performance
  • Monitor organizational activity to ensure it assists in the progress and development of stated strategy.
  • Work with shareholders and develop a communication strategy for coordination of programs
  • Meet with various stakeholders and to research and  assess whether a community Social enterprise is viable and meet the needs of the community.
Qualifications
  • A post-secondary education in the field of Community (economic) Development. 
  • Cannot be over the age of 30 – Funder requirements
  • Keen desire to work in a value-based non-profit environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office Programs 
  • Approachable, warm, personable and patient 
  • Excellent knowledge of resources available in Winnipeg 
  • Organizing meetings and chairing
  • Effective Advocacy
  • Attend professional development appropriate to gaining knowledge in this field 
  • Can demonstrate that working in the field of community economic development is a career goal
  • Must provide a criminal records check
