Food Matters Manitoba is seeking an Evaluation Intern for its Revisioning the Manitoba Harvest project. The project works with small-scale farmers and community projects with newcomers, northerners and First Nations communities.
The position would be based out of Winnipeg, 35 hours per week, $13-$15/hr from May 13 to August 30, 2013.
Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and reviewing community evaluation plans
- Coordinating community evaluation activities
- Conducting interviews and focus groups
- Compiling and analysing evaluation data
- Providing evaluation support to community partners
- Assisting with the evaluation of the Food Matters Manitoba charitable giving campaign
- Assisting with evaluation of the Dig In Challenge campaign
- Writing evaluation reports
- Other duties as required
About You:
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of interviewing techniques
- Experience in evaluation process and data collection methods
- Knowledge of, and interest in, food security is considered an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with proven attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with the public
- Able to exercise independent judgment
- Strong time management and able to multitask and meet deadlines
- High level of computer knowledge, including Internet, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Be self motivated and a team player
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle would be an asset
