Food Matters Manitoba is seeking an Evaluation Intern for its Revisioning the Manitoba Harvest project.  The project works with small-scale farmers and community projects with newcomers, northerners and First Nations communities.  
 
The position would be based out of Winnipeg, 35 hours per week, $13-$15/hr from May 13 to August 30, 2013.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and reviewing community evaluation plans
  • Coordinating community evaluation activities
  • Conducting interviews and focus groups
  • Compiling and analysing evaluation data
  • Providing evaluation support to community partners
  • Assisting with the evaluation of the Food Matters Manitoba charitable giving campaign
  • Assisting with evaluation of the Dig In Challenge campaign
  • Writing evaluation reports
  • Other duties as required

About You:

 The successful applicant will demonstrate: 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of interviewing techniques
  • Experience in evaluation process and data collection methods
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, food security is considered an asset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with proven attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with the public
  • Able to exercise independent judgment  
  • Strong time management and able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • High level of computer knowledge, including Internet, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Be self motivated and a team player 
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle would be an asset
