COMMUNICATIONS and ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Summary Job description
• Coordinate and implement the CWCF’s communications including newsletters, web sites, and social media
• Assist CWCF Executive Director in administering CWCF’s member services and operations
• Assist with planning and organizing CWCF events
• Other duties as assigned
Required skill and knowledge set
• Strong writing ability, including for meeting minutes and newsletter articles
• Good people skills
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage events (such as Conferences, tele-learning sessions, and webinars)
• Experience with development / implementation of communication strategies
• Familiarity with the co-operative model and, ideally, worker co-operatives
• Computer skills: knowledge of web site updating with a content management platform (e.g., Drupal); also MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Familiarity with group email lists.
• Experience with development of printed material, including brochures, annual reports, etc.
In addition to the above knowledge / skills, candidates with worker co-op development background will have increased capacity to contribute to this position and assume additional responsibilities. French / English bilingualism would be a strong asset.

Location
Calgary strongly preferred; other locations in Canada could be considered.
Hours
24 hours per week, with a flexible schedule as mutually agreed.
