The Broadway Neighbourhood Centre, located near the intersection of Broadway and Young, offers the highest quality recreational, social, health, educational and employment training programs and services to individuals of all ages living in Winnipeg and primarily the West Broadway Community.  The centre is a dynamic and enjoyable place to work and is currently searching for a Project Coordinator with a background in managing projects in a non-profit setting, strong understanding of marginalized youth and a desire to work in a new and exciting program focused on breaking down barriers to employment. 

The ideal Project Coordinator will possess strong leadership and organizational skills.  The successful applicant will excel at multi-tasking and must work well independently.  This position requires the ability to manage a team in a positive and professional manner.  Strong knowledge in aspects of working with youth with a focus on employment skills is required as well as the following qualifications:

  • A relevant post-secondary education and a minimum of 2 years of meaningful work experience as a manager in the youth care field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization
  • Ability to mentor, train, and coach youth on aspects related to the developing employment skills
  • Willingness to support youth participants in developing their skills and pursuing their desires to work within the multimedia industry;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with proven facilitation and presentation skills;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Energetic, dynamic, and positive personality; and self-motivated, able to achieve high levels of performance individually or in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with both internal and external resources;
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and experience;
  • A reputation for being reliable complimented by a willingness to take direction;
  • The ability to be self-motivated and guide a staff team to maintain high levels of performance.
