Manitoba Eco-Network is seeking a dynamic, organized individual to fill the position of Coordinator. The position is 35 hours per week permanent.

The Coordinator’s role is multi-faceted in a busy office situated in the EcoCentre. Tasks include:

  • Managing daily communications and information requests, including phone, email, in-person, and mail
  • Managing content on website, social media, and monthly e-bulletins; content includes green jobs, news, action opportunities and other resources from members
  • Event and program planning, including scheduling, publicity, outreach, follow-up; events include Reel Green Celebration, Member Forum, workshops, public consultations, and special events
  • Liaison with the IT systems Manager and web developer volunteer; managing the website, calendar and social media; troubleshooting computer, printer, network, and internet problems
  • Recruitment, training, and management of volunteers, including the Library Assistant, and providing support to Eco-Network programs
  • Maintaining the EcoCentre, including boardroom calendar, kitchen duty, lighting replacement, and more
  • Processing membership payments and donations and renewals, updating records, administering bank deposits
  • Eco-Journal assistance including collation of calendar events, soliciting, and confirmation of ads, and coordinating mail distribution

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree and/or experience in communications, journalism, administration, management, environmental studies, or related fields
  • Strong ability to work and solve problems independently
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including familiarity with: website content management, Microsoft Access or other database applications, and general office applications

     The ability to learn new programs and troubleshoot independently

  • Experience in event planning and coordination
  • Experience in the non-profit sector
  • Ability to manage volunteers and interns
  • Outgoing, friendly approach
  • Strong critical thinking and strategic planning skills

The following qualifications are not essential but are considered assets:

  • Familiarity with ecological principles, green living, and environmental issues
  • Experience in marketing, social enterprises, and/or fundraising
  • Fluency in both English and French

The Coordinator works from Manitoba Eco-Network’s office on the 3rd floor of 303 Portage Avenue. The Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.
