OFE is a private, faith-based, non-profit organization. Their mission is to assist adults to achieve self- sufficiency through full-time, long-term employment. They are currently recruiting for the following new position in the growing organization:
Facilitator, Essential Skills and Computer Applications
EFT: 1.0 (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week) .
This position is required to design, develop and deliver superior workplace essential skills education. Job seekers are expected to achieve increased levels of workplace essential skill proficiency and computer literacy in order to prepare them for sustained employment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and considerable working experience in the accounting field including financial reporting, budgeting, income statements, balance sheets, payroll, cash flow, bank reconciliation and external audits.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, Simply Accounting and other computerized accounting systems.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures, preferably at a level 3 CGA
- Good verbal and written communication skills for exchanging information and preparing reports.
- Submission of a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry checkExceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong planning and organizational skills
- Coaching and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
OFE Facilitators demonstrate high levels of flexibility and creativity. The ability to easily and quickly establish and maintain positive working relationships with job seekers with multiple barriers to employment is required. Establishing a comfortable atmosphere that is conducive to learning is essential.
General Requirements for Position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field or equivalent experience and training (i.e. EAL background,
- Literacy work, and/or facilitator training)
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for
- Individuals and groups and measurement of training effects.
- Interest in learning new Essential Skills applications and resources
- Proficiency in current Windows and MS Office applications with ability to teach computer literacy to adult learners
