Mariner Resource Opportunities Network Inc. is seeking applications for the position of Economic Development Officer (EDO).

Duties:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: conduct research on potential economic and social development opportunities for the region; identify and develop partnerships for long term planning with municipalities, organizations and other key stakeholders throughout the Baccalieu Trail; prepare funding proposals, briefs and other reports; assist with the development of a yearly workplan for the organization; and assist with data collection.

Qualifications:
Successful applicant should have experience in strategic planning, proposal writing, research, facilitation, excellent written/oral communication skills as well as proficiency in computer programs.  Applicant should also have an understanding of key issues in the region and knowledge of available government departments and funding programs.  Completion of a degree in business, community development, or a combination of related experience and education will be accepted.  Access to a vehicle and a valid drivers’ license is required as travel is critical to this position.
