The West Central Women’s Resource Centre (WCWRC) provides services and programming to women and families in the West Central neighbourhood of Winnipeg. WCWRC is seeking an Office Manager to complete a maternity leave contract. Working with the Director: Finance and Operations and the Director: Programming and Human Resources, the Office Manager will support day-to-day operations of the centre, communications, human resources and programming.

Start Date: November 2013
Salary: $18/hour
Time requirement: 28 hours/ week - 10 month term
Closing date: November 7, 2013

Responsibilities:

Office Management

  • Coordination of building service/maintenance
  • Offer and coordinate technical support and server maintenance
  • Procurement and organization of general supplies

Communications and Public Relations

  • Creating and sending out regular newsletters
  • Update website and Facebook page
  • Coordinate internal office communication

Administrative Support

  • Provide support to co-directors
  • Submit monthly report to Director: Finance and Operations
  • Submit reports for funders

Board Support

  • Coordinate Board meetings
  • Compile board reports

Fundraising

  • Research, write, oversee and report on all grants relating to capital projects
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of special events

Human Resources Support

  • Assist with creating and circulating job descriptions and postings
  • Assist with the coordination of staff trainings
  • Orientation for new staff

Qualifications Required:

  • Completion of certificate or diploma program in office administration; a combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative position
  • Excellent organizational and time management skillsAbove average computer skills and the ability to provide technical support to other staff
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to prepare reports, letters, and forms
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
