Food Matters Manitoba is creating an applicant pool for internships in the following areas:

Communications, Program Support, Dig In Manitoba, Youth Exchange, Growing Local Conference. An internship at Food Matters

Manitoba is a great way to learn new skills, make a difference, and begin your career. All internships are 35 hours per week, based in Winnipeg and paid $14 per hour. Please note internship criteria at the end of this posting.

We anticipate the Growing Local Conference Intern position will run from 2 December 2013 to 21 March 2014.

The Growing Local Conference intern will work with Food Matters Manitoba staff and the Growing Local conference team to support Growing Local 2014. The Growing Local Conference will be held February 28 - March 1, 2014.

INTERNSHIP CRITERIA

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the time of placement;
  • A graduate of a post-secondary education program;
  • Not receiving Employment Insurance benefits;
  • Have not previously held a Career Focus internship position;
  • Be unemployed or underemployed (working 20 hours or less on a regular basis); or working in a job that does not match your area of educational study;
  • Out of school;
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee status has been conferred;
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
