GENERAL MANAGER
The Elgin Business Resource Centre (ERBC) is a Southern Ontario community based non-profit organization. Located in the City of St. Thomas, the corporation was provincially incorporated as the Elgin Community Futures Development Corporation in 1986. Our mission is to provide human and financial resources to new and existing businesses in Elgin County and to act as a catalyst for community and economic development.
Along with its community and funding partners, EBRC provides loans, services and programs to support entrepreneurship. The organization operates the Small Business Enterprise Centre, the Innovation Centre for Entrepreneurs (ICE) and two satellite offices in Elgin County.
The General Manager reports to a Board of Directors and oversee the operations of the corporation, providing strategic direction and ensuring that both the mandate and corporate mission are achieved. The position is a leadership role and responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, including guidance of staff and property management.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of administrative practices in business and an excellent understanding of economic development, lending practices, credit law and venture development. Demonstrated problem solving capacity and the ability to think strategically and communicate effectively are essential skill requirements. A strong client and stakeholder orientation and a good understanding of social and organizational dynamics are required. Knowledge of rural communities and culture is an asset. A combination of post secondary education, experience, skills, abilities and a track record in business development are essential qualifications. The salary for this position will be commensurate with skills and expertise.
