‘Engaging Boys and Young Men to End Violence Against Women’ Program Facilitator(PT)
Broadway Neighbourhood Centre is searching for a Youth Facilitator with a background in youth work in a non-profit setting, a strong understanding of marginalized youth, the ability to relate to and mentor boys and young men aged 15-25 and a desire to work in a new and exciting program focused on how to engage boys and young men to end violence against women.
The ideal facilitator will possess strong leadership and organizational skills and be enthusiastic and energetic. The successful applicant will excel at multi-tasking and must work well independently. This position requires the ability to manage a team in a positive and professional manner. Strong knowledge in aspects of working with youth, an understanding of intersectional oppression, a desire to learn about healthy masculinity, an awareness of the cognitive and emotional supports required by and the issues affecting boys and young men, and a focus on mentorship/leadership is required.
The position requires a commitment of 15 hours a week at a pay rate of $15/hr.

* A relevant post-secondary education
* Experience working as a front-line youth worker or delivering educational programs to youth
* Experience working in a non-profit organization
* Ability to mentor, train, and support youth
* Willingness to support youth participants in developing healthy masculinity and modeling healthy behavior and relationships
* Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with proven facilitation and presentation skills
* Valid Class 5 driver’s license
* Energetic, dynamic, and positive personality
* Self-motivated, able to achieve high levels of performance individually or in a team setting
* Demonstrated ability to liaise with both internal and external resources;
* Strong organizational and planning skills and experience;
* A reputation for being reliable complimented by a willingness to take direction
Duties include:
* Planning the curriculum and incorporating it into weekly programming activities;
* Run programming two evenings a week, including one group outing;
* Attending a staff meeting/planning session once a week;
* Complete daily log after programming;
* Facilitate discussion groups, group activities, and plan special guests and workshops relevant to program goals;
* Builds mentorship relationships with youth;
* Ensures safety of participants and that the facilities are used in a respectful matter;
* Prepares meals with the youth participants and cleans kitchen each evening of programming
