Responsibility:
The Placement Facilitator reports to the Skills Training Manager. The Placement Facilitator will participate in and support the vision of the Trades program and will focus upon obtaining, monitoring and reporting on the work experience and employment placements for Trades Training participants. The position supports the Trades Training program with marketing, promotion, interviewing, and selection of the participants. The Placement Facilitator will support ongoing projects as determined by the needs of the Trades Training program.

Objectives:
Work Experience PlacementOutcomes: All participants are placed in a quality work experience that meets their interests and abilities. Employers understand our program and wish to participate in becoming work experience hosts. Indicators: 50% of participants are hired on by their work experience host. 80% of participants report satisfaction with their work experience. 75% of participants are employed in their field 6 months after training ends. Databank of employers continues to grow. 3 new work experience employers per program/year. Each contact has a tracking mechanism for future data analysis needs | Employers:

Coordinate Employment SupportOutcomes: Participants develop skills and knowledge appropriate to the trade.Strong working relationships maintained with SAIT and the Apprenticeship Board. The instruction meets the needs of participants and employers. Indicators: 80% of employers report satisfaction with the quality of our participants on the job. |

Trades Training Program SupportOutcomes: Program is well known to partner agencies and general public. The number of applications generates sufficient and appropriate applicants for the program to be successful. Indicator:40 appropriate participants registered for the program and successful to meet employment indicators. |

Complete administrative dutiesOutcome: Program is supported and engaged in organizational activities. Indicators: 100% of reports submitted accurately and on time.Participation in staff events |

Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree, or other relevant combination of experience and education: career development, community economic development, social services or adult education
- Demonstrated success with work training/placements and employment outcomes
- Experience in working with multi-cultural and/or highly barriered clients
- Strong knowledge of trades and the apprenticeship system
- Ability to use your network and the hidden job market to secure job placements
- Understanding of the industrial labour market
- Results oriented
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
- Tenacious, persistent, professional
- Demonstrated ability to network, build and maintain excellent relationships
- Able to work independently and take a high degree of initiative, as part of a dynamic team
- Sound knowledge of computers and MS Office environment and tools to manage
- Ability to collect and maintain program information (ie. data collection, documented processes)
- Creative, compassionate and flexible regarding work schedule
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent coordination and analytical skills
- Must have access to a vehicle
- Knowledge of CED and evaluation issues considered an asset
