The Life and Employability Enhancement Program (L.E.E.P.) is a pre-employment training program for newcomer youth from war affected countries (ages 18-30) that face multiple barriers to employment. The position requires a self-motivated team player with the passion for and experience in empowering individuals with barriers to employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic computer training in the classroom and on a one to one basis
- Assist in providing English literacy skills, oral conversational skills
- Provide assistance in the classroom and one to one
- Help participants to develop job search skills, including resume writing and preparing for job interviews
- Encourage, guide and build self-esteem of participants
- Complete reports and documentation on activities as required
- Attend meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Minimum one year prior related work experience.
- Must be client centered with excellent interpersonal skills
- Cross cultural experience
- Additional language an asset.
- Criminal Police Investigation check
- Child abuse registry check
More Information
Wage: $14.00/hour depending on experience
Term: April 1 – March 31, 2015 Dependent on Funding
Hours: 14 hours/week (Monday-Thursday)
