Two positions are available at Food Matters Manitoba this summer. Both positions are from May 26 – August 29, 35 hours per week, $12 per hour.
The food security engagement assistant will:
- Assist in the coordination of Manitoba Garden Makeover
- Assist in coordination of Food Matters Manitoba’s annual general meeting and Manitoba Food Security Network gathering
- Assist in promotion of the 2014 Golden Carrot Awards
- Identify new potential Manitoba Food Charter signatories
- Display and present at events
- Other duties as assigned
About You:
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Strong interest in and knowledge of community food security issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with proven attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to exercise independent judgement
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Able to multitask and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s licence and occasional access to a vehicle considered an asset
*To be eligible for these positions, applicants must have been a full-time student in spring 2014 and be returning to school full-time in fall 2014, be between the age of 15 and 30, and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
