Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. is a non-profit, community based; Aboriginal led human services organization that provides a range of Aboriginal identified programs and services that focus on wholeness and wellness and that builds on the strengths and resilience of Aboriginal Peoples.
Lead Project Coordinator:
Reports to the Youth Leadership & Mentorship Manager (or her designate) and is responsible for managing the implementation, monitoring, evaluating of all program related objectives/deliverables and prepares internal and comprehensive reports as required. The Lead Program Coordinator will also provide support to staff teams and serve as a primary resource to advisory committees.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate is an innovator and motivator with relevant post secondary education and with a minimum of three (3) years experience working with Aboriginal youth or a relevant combination of education and experience. The candidate must have demonstrated success in program planning and implementation, demonstrated coordination experience, community outreach, youth engagement and leadership skills. Experience in facilitating groups and report writing is essential. Communication and creative problem solving, working within specific timeframes and a commitment to cultural reclamation practice are essential.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the goals, objectives and work-plan activities
- Work plan, logic model, program framework development
- Ensures that traditional knowledge is incorporated in the design, development and implementation of the project
- Identifies, recruits and maintains relationship with community advisory committee
- Establishes external linkages and networks with community resources
- Prepare presentations, briefing notes and progress reports for stakeholders and funders
- Prepares progress reports and annual reports to the Ka Ni Kanichihk Council and funding bodies as required
- Assists in the development and implementation of evaluation methods and processes
- Communicates and liaises with management and staff
- Demonstrated cultural competency.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of and committed to addressing issues that Aboriginal youth and young women experience. The ability to speak an Aboriginal language is an asset. Preference will be given to qualified Aboriginal candidates.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract and access to a vehicle is a will be considered an asset.
