We are seeking a Research & Special Projects Manager, who is skilled in understanding information and project management, to join our team. The successful candidate will focus on conducting research, writing documents ranging from memos to research reports, and conducting focus groups. He/she can “connect the dots” and communicate their findings clearly with actionable insights, recommendations, and reports. They will also have the opportunity to be involved in key United Way initiatives, such as the Peg community indicator system and enhancing United Way’s engagement approaches.
As a key contributor to major Community Investment projects as well as other initiatives, the Research & Special Projects Manager will champion the innovative use of knowledge and research to influence our multi-faceted strategies and ultimately assist United Way to meet and exceed objectives.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:
- Relevant post-secondary degree; Graduate degree would be an asset
- 3 – 5 years of experience in roles which focus on research, writing, and presentation of information; experience leading research and analysis projects an asset
- Experience with field research techniques and research evaluation
- Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to organize and implement plans and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong report writing, ability to facilitate discussions, and experience presenting to small and large groups
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to strategically ‘connect the dots’, including problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Initiative, intellectual curiosity and a passionate interest in making Winnipeg a better place
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other staff and volunteers but also work independently
