The Rural Development Institute (RDI) functions as a research and development organization designed to promote, facilitate, coordinate, initiate and conduct multi-disciplinary academic and applied research on rural issues. RDI provides an interface between academic research efforts and the community by acting as a conduit of rural research information and by facilitating community involvement in rural development.
RDI is currently looking for a Project Coordinator for a new project called the Rural Policy on Learning Commons. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the project operations including organizing, facilitating, implementing, monitoring and tracking project milestones and achievements and budgets. The Coordinator will interact with regional, national, international partners, to monitor project activities of several committees over multiple years to accomplish the project goals.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree and 3-5 years of successful experience coordinating complex and multi-year projects; PMI certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite of Programs including Microsoft Project or other project management software and web base (social media) tools.
- Working facility in French preferred, and highly effective in written and spoken aspects of English.
- Familiarity and experience with federally funded projects (SSHRC) would be an asset.
- Travel in North America and European countries required.

Salary: This position will be a 3 year term, with the possibility of renewal. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences of a Professional Associate in the Brandon University Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
