Summary of Job Description
NorWest Co-op Community Health is looking for a dynamic fundraising professional who will be responsible for developing a diverse portfolio of fundraising approaches. These approaches may include direct mail, foundation proposals, major donors, securing local corporate sponsors, third party events as well as developing a signature event.
The Fundraiser will play a prominent role in supporting and expanding a round table of local fundraising champions, work on NorWest’s development goals, and collaborate with national project partners. This person will co-ordinate all aspects of the fundraising database, manage records and ensure prompt receipting, recognition and thanking of donors. The fundraiser will manage a stewardship and recognition program and ensure donor retention. This person will also support the work of communications staff to develop proactive and effective strategies and tools to promote our work, public image and to create awareness of health, poverty and food justice issues in our community.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a fundraising position
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
- Exceptional written, interpersonal and verbal skills
- Established connections to local donor community and general development environment
- Demonstrated experience with diverse fundraising approaches and event management
- Diplomatic, confident, organized, assertive, enthusiastic team player
- Commitment and passion for food security, health, community development and social justice issues
