The Community Social Planning Council of Greater Victoria is seeking candidates for the position of Program Manager. The Program Manager leads the CSPC's portfolio of work related to community economic development, neighbourhood resilience, and strategies to address the needs of children and youth within the Capital Region.
The successful candidate will be motivated, socially entrepreneurial, a systems thinker, and a dedicated and passionate community builder.As Program Manager you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership and support to the development and business planning of the
- Vancouver Island Community Investment Co-operative
- Leading a multi-organization professional development and quality improvement initiative with
- youth-serving organizations in the Capital Region;
- Working with community stakeholders to develop a multi-stakeholder initiative on improving
- outcomes for children and youth in the Capital Region;
- Providing leadership, project management, research, planning and facilitation for an innovative
- >multi-year neighbourhood development initiative;
- Mobilizing and supporting action on findings of recent research into social enterprise for youth
- employment opportunities in the Capital Region;
- Supporting an annual Social Enterprise Catalyst event for Vancouver Island;
- Developing new opportunities and projects in response to community needs and priorities.
Skills and Expertise:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in program management and development, and writing and
- negotiating funding proposals and contracts;
- Extensive experience in the objectives and practices of community economic development and
- social enterprise development;
- Demonstrated experience in group process design and facilitation and proven track record of
- working in collaborative environments to create systems change and positively impact pressing
- social challenges;
- Superior written and oral communication skills;
- Experience of community-based research methodologies is also a requirement;
- Knowledge of social finance sector and emerging community investment models as asset;
- Knowledge of cooperative development and governance an asset. Community Social Planning Council
The position is for a one-year term subject to review and renewal, at a salary range of $50,000 to $55,00 per annum.
