UMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Band Manager, the Community Economic Development Officer shall be
responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and monitoring of economic development and
employment strategies for Missanabie Cree First Nation that will maintain a healthy level of engagement
of members and support employment, cultural, social, political and economic progress.
OUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-Secondary diploma in business/economic development field or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience in this field may be considered;
- Minimum of three (3) year’s related work experience with proven management, negotiation, analytical and organizational skills;
- Excellent research skills
- Must possess proposal writing skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Must possess initiative, tact, discretion and effective interpersonal skills;
- Good working knowledge of relevant programs, services, government legislation and policies and procedures;
- Must have a good working knowledge and experience of relevant computer programs;
- Good understanding of Missanabie’s traditional ecological knowledge;
- Must be able to work under minimum supervision;
- Must possess a willingness to travel and work flexible hours;
- Class “G” Driver’s License.
