Our programs are delivered in partnership with community economic development organizations and universities in BC, Alberta and the United States. JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this full-time position is to achieve operational excellence and ensure all systems run smoothly. The role will uphold the reputation of the organization by meeting or exceeding all service delivery promises.
This is a new position and will enable growth, the creation of important new programs and new revenue streams by introducing systems improvement and efficiencies to organizational processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Outreach and Engagement (30 - 40%): The Operations Manager will be responsible for implementing, measuring and improving all programs and systems that support our relationships and engagement with our network, such as:
- A monthly newsletter
- A website
- Social media program
- Two annual outreach and engagement campaigns
- Entering data into the customer relationship database
- Responding to requests from enrolled students
- Implement feedback systems and loops
- Implement a continuous cycle of improvement
- Write pithy summaries of events, catchy subject lines and calls to action
2. Operational Excellence (60 - 70%): The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the operation run smoothly including:
- Operational analysis, planning and improvements
- Negotiated contracts are signed and delivered
- Production of course materials
- Course/event logistics: ensure all details of courses; online web conferences and other events are taken care of
- Assist with creating and updating budgets
- Accounts payable
- Student records
- Organizational files and reporting
REQUIRED

- Deftly employs steps to run a continuous cycle of improvement.
- 3 – 5 years experience in project or program management.
- Is at a point in his or her career where you are thirsty to excel, push your own boundaries, do important work and create something valuable.
- 1-year experience working independently (from home or as a self-employed contractor) without daily support.
- Strong preference for the candidate to be located in Victoria, BC. Possibility that the position can be located in Vancouver for the right person.
