Community Development Manager

The District of Lake Country is seeking a permanent full-time Community Development Manager to join their team. The Community Development Manager provides promotional, research, report writing, presentation, and analytical services respecting economic development, long range planning, policy development, tourism, and other community development initiatives.

This is a professional level position in the Community Development section that requires a high degree of responsibility in the development and implementation of key strategies, statutory documents, municipal policy, and business support initiatives. This position also requires thorough knowledge of related Acts and Regulations and the development process in B.C. The Community Development Manager primarily works independently, while still collaborating with District staff, making submissions to Council, affected public and private agencies, as well as working with various groups in the community.

The preferred candidates will have completed a degree in public administration, economic development, business, marketing management, urban and regional planning, or a related discipline – along with a minimum of five years of related experience.
