Marlene Street Resource Centre (MSRC) is a United Way member agency, located in St. Vital, that offers outreach and programming for residents of all ages who reside at the Marlene Street Manitoba Housing Complex.
We are currently recruiting for the temporary position of Male Facilitator for our Centre.
This individual will be responsible for the following activities:
- Facilitating an after school Guys on the Go program on Friday afternoons at Lavallee School for pre-teen boys.
- Overseeing a weekly after school Boys Club at the Centre for boys ages 7 to 12.
- Assisting the MSRC Community Program Coordinator with facilitating an after school learning-based program held at the Centre for boys and girls ages 7 to 12.
- Supervising program volunteers
- General planning for these programs, as well as program outreach and promotion.
We are looking for the following in applicants:
- Proven ability, or a strong interest, in working with youth; ideally has work and/or volunteer experience facilitating or assisting in youth programs/activities, particularly with boys. This could include arts, crafts, sports, computer and tech-based activities, cooking programs, homework clubs, community outings, etc.
- Energetic, friendly, dependable and reliable
- Is committed to being a strong role model for youth in our community
- Possesses a current and clear criminal record and child abuse check, or is willing to obtain one.
