Crossroads for Women Inc. provides shelter to women and their children living with family violence, ensuring their physical safety and providing them with the support that ultimately will help them break the cycle of violence. Crossroads for Women offers many services and programs including transition and Second Stage housing, children’s program, awareness and prevention.
Crossroads for Women Inc. is seeking candidates for the newly created position of Director, Communications & Marketing.
The Director, Communications & Marketing is responsible for all communication, marketing and fundraising events/activities for Crossroads for Women. The position manages all planning, development, implementation, fundraising strategies, monitoring and evaluation of events and grant proposal writing. The incumbent will work in partnership with the Executive Director in the representation, advocacy networking and promotion of the fight against violence. This position also plays a key role in the coordination of the renovations of the new transition shelter, the largest of its kind in New Brunswick, in preparation for its opening in 2015.
As you will be working with various stakeholders, you have excellent communication skills both orally and written in both official languages with proven public speaking abilities. You possess strong organizational and strategic skills and you approach marketing and communication plans with a creative and analytical mind; you are also a strong copy writer.
We are seeking a knowledgeable, experienced and robust marketing and communications professional with a degree or diploma from a recognized postsecondary institution in a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience planning, coordinating and promoting a variety of special events (preferably fundraising events in a non-profit environment) as well as experience working with volunteers and volunteer committees/boards or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to Crossroads for Women.
To be considered you will have demonstrated experience in the use of social media applications for business & marketing as well as experience conducting media interviews. The ideal person will have an equal mix of technical marketing ability, stakeholder management skills, and the practicality/adaptability necessary to work effectively within a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will be imaginative, creative and full of energy with excellent people skills. Finally, the successful applicant will be a strategic thinker, a hands-on day-to-day manager, organized, level headed and thorough with excellent attention to detail.
