West Broadway Youth Outreach is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, and organized individual with strong record keeping, communication skills, and experience working in a non-profit organization, who likes children.
West Broadway Youth Outreach is a drop-in life skills and recreational program providing a wide variety of free programming to children aged 4 and up in the West Broadway area and beyond. For more information about WBYO please refer to our website at www.westbroadwayyouthoutreach.com.
The Office Manager is responsible for assisting the WBYO staff in the day-to-day record keeping and data base management of the organization. This position has primary responsibility for office based administrative, record keeping and coordination tasks.
- Acting as a liaison between WBYO staff and our book keeper
- Tracking expenses
- Recording and totalling staff hours
- Maintaining both a digital database of WBYO information and paper file system
- Keeping a clean and organized office space
- Coordinating correspondence, (email, phone and letter)
- Sending in child abuse registry checks
- Entering volunteer data
- Checking voicemails
- Tracking program attendance
- Preparing computers and printers prior to instructional use (verifying Bluetooth connection, internet settings, and overall functionality)
- Assisting with programs as needed
The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Have strong computer skills including use of email, Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Publisher) on a regular basis
- Have strong organization skills and ability to manage and prioritize several different tasks in any given day
- Be enthusiastic and professional in working with children and their families
- Have a flexible schedule
- Work well with different personalities, populations of diverse ages and backgrounds
Assets include:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience as an office administrator
- Familiarity with the West Broadway neighbourhood or other inner-city communities
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working with non-profit organizations.
