Saskatchewan Co-operative Association (SCA) is accepting applications for the Project Coordinator position within the Youth Co-operative Entrepreneurship Program (YCEP). This position is a temporary full-time position for the period of April 16 - August 31, 2015 pending funding. Saskatchewan Co-operative Association is a provincial coalition of co-operatives, and credit unions. We are a community service co-operative working to support and promote the co-operative model for community and economic development. SCA’s work focuses on: Co-operative Development, Community, Business, and Government Relations, Youth Education and Involvement, and Member Services and Communications.
The Youth Co-operative Entrepreneurship Program project is a youth employment and education project for youth ages 12 - 17 in (mostly) rural communities. Through the creation of their own mock worker co-operative, youth provide needed services and create their own economic opportunities in local communities. In addition to creating their own summer jobs, youth will participate in hands-on practical skills building and entrepreneurship training.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet and work with a variety of community groups and stakeholders.
- Plan and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
- Research and engage additional project sponsorship.
- Manage the day-to-day aspects of the program.
- Engage in marketing and promotions for YCEP.
- Interview and hire Project Facilitators.
- Ensure delivery of training for Project Facilitators.
- Supervise Project Facilitators and YCEP participants.
- Establish relationships with project committees and communities.
- Draft and present necessary reports.
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school graduate required; post-secondary education is desirable
- Knowledge of the co-operative sector in Saskatchewan
- Knowledge of entrepreneurship and business development
- Experience working with youth

- The ability to work independently as well as be part of a team
- Strong communication skills – both written and oral
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
Technical Competencies:
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic proficiency with social media
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Further Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a routine criminal record check.
