Context:

A job to work in a team dynamic to fuel social entrepreneurship through youth in Concordia University and Montreal in the context of the RECODE “Entreprendre autrement” program.

District 3 Innovation Center:

District 3 is an entrepreneurial community at the heart of Concordia University. RECODE “Entreprendre autrement”:

RECODE is a J.W. McConnell initiative across Canada to fuel social innovation in higher education. At the Concordia level, it is a partnership between District 3, TIESS, and “Chantier de l’économie sociale” and a “Je Vois Montréal” project named “Entreprendre autrement”. This project has a goal of creating in a social entrepreneurship and social economy context 1000 projects engaging 100 000 people within 100 weeks through the mobilisation of Montreal’s youth and a network of ambassadors

Your Responsibilities:

As the Social Entrepreneurship Logistics Manager, you shall work together with the member of the District 3 team to support many of the activities;

  • Develop promotional tools to promote social entrepreneurship in D3/Concordia/Montreal in concert with the D3 Communications Team;
  • Attend and network at various events to augment D3 visibility;
  • Recruit potential social entrepreneurs/teams;
  • Coordinate all aspects of interaction with our community including meetings and appointments;
  • Create recruitment, as well as, informative & community events for social entrepreneurship, in concert with the Ambassadors & the D3 Communications Team;
  • Assists the RECODE manager in coordinating the ambassadors in Concordia;
  • Develop and maintain links with all relevant institutions and student groups at Concordia;
  • Stimulate discussion in District 3, Concordia & Montreal on social innovation, social impact and how to evaluate them.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the world of social entrepreneurship, social enterprise, social economy  (or a willingness to learn);
  • Experience in creating promotional material;
  • Experience in event organisation;
  • Preferably bilingual (minimum: a working understanding of French);
  • Preferably a knowledge of the Concordia eco-system;
  • Action orientated work dynamic.
