The Executive Director, Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council (WPRC) will work together with the WPRC Steering Committee and Council by engaging multiple sectors across the community through a collective impact approach in implementing the WPRC overall vision and Framework for Action. Reporting to the Vice President, Community Investment, the Executive Director will ensure the objectives of WPRC are achieved in the most collaborative and effective manner possible.

Through strong leadership and administrative support, the Executive Director will:

  • Foster collaboration across sectors that breaks down silos, create collective impact and emphasize collective effort, collaboration, integration and alignment among sectors, organizations, community groups and individuals
  • Supervise and mentor a small staff who will also assist in the work of the WPRC, its committees and working groups and with WRPC strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with the Steering Committee and ensure outcomes are met through strategic and financial planning, setting of priorities, development of evaluation frameworks, report writing and keeping current with poverty reduction initiatives, both locally and nationally
  • Collaborate with volunteers and other members of the team to ensure that all stakeholders have meaningful experiences that lead them to be confident and passionate ambassadors of the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council

As the ideal candidate, you possess:

  • A post graduate degree in business or related field; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Five-ten years’ experience in a senior leadership position with a demonstrated ability to work across sectors, act strategically and continuously learn
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships and teams
  • The desire to be part of a volunteer and staff team committed to making a positive difference in our city
