We are currently seeking an Executive Director to assume responsibility for the daily operations and management of our organization.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the position is for a 12 month contract, with possibility of extension if the candidate is successful in generating new revenue streams to sustain the organization into the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily operation of the organization as delegated by the Board.
  • Report to the Board regularly on operations and progress towards strategic targets.
  • Implement the strategic plan and programs of the organization, either directly or through delegation of activities to staff and contractors as required.
  • Fundraising and revenue generation.
  • Development of the organization’s annual operating plan and budget, in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer for approval by the Board.
  • Managing risks to the organization.
  • Human resources management for staff and contractors of the organization.
  • Lead the preparation of the organization’s annual business plan for approval by the Board.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in managing staff, projects and programs, within a defined budget essential.
  • Non-profit experience is an asset.
  • Experience in leading organizational change an asset.
  • Experience in identifying and capitalizing on new revenue streams an asset.
  • A significant understanding of renewable energy systems and energy conservation strategies
  • Relevant post secondary education and complimentary work experience
  • Experience managing and motivating diverse stakeholders ranging from the for profit, not for profit, government and volunteer sectors
  • Must be based in either Vancouver or Victoria.
